National Weather Service: Severe Storms Headed This Way

Thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and tonight could bring winds in exceeds of 60 mph and hail, according to a hazardous weather outlook.

A hazardous weather outlook issued Tuesday morning said the storms could hit Will, Grundy, DuPage, Kendall, Cook and DeKalb counties.

According to the weather service, strong storms could result in winds in excess of 60 mph and hail the size of quarters, along with frequent cloud-to-ground lightning. Strong to severe thunderstorms are increasingly in the early and mid-afternoon, lingering into the evening.
