Meet Lizzie

Lizzie is a rat terrier mix who may also be part Jack Russell and Chihuahua.

Lizzie is a seven-month-old rat terrier mix. She arrived at the Romeoville Humane Society with her sister, Peggy Sue, who has already found her forever home.

Lizzie came from southern Illinois, where she was left to be an outside dog — but the Illinois winter is a bit too cold for the 8-pound pooch to spend it outdoors. Now, she's happy in her foster home, where foster mom Angie Ciarlette said she enjoys snuggling.

"She's happy running around or perched on your neck sleeping," Ciarlette said.

Lizzie loves playing with her fosters "sisters" and "brothers" and gets along well with other dogs. Her foster family says if you're looking for someone to cuddle or play with, Lizzie fits the bill.

The Romeoville Humane Society is a volunteer-run animal rescue. Before they are adopted, pets are spayed or neutered and receive all shots and a microchip identification implant. For more information or to fill out an adoption form, visit the organization’s website or e-mail info@romeovillehumanesociety.org.
