Local Football: Romeoville Faces Bolingbrook in Week 2

What kind of season are you predicting for Romeoville? And Bolingbrook?

Kickoff to a new high school football season is less than a week away, and chances are you’re wondering how Valley View School District’s two teams are shaping up.

Well, it might take several weeks to answer the question of whether Bolingbrook and Romeoville will contend for conference championships and/or playoff berths. But it won’t take nearly that long to determine a winner in the local bragging rights bowl game.

Romeoville plays at Bolingbrook in Week 2—on Friday, Sept. 6—in a matchup sure to bring out the faithful on both sides of this long-standing battle.

Looking to identify a couple of other key dates on the local football schedule? Well, circle Oct. 18 for sure. That’s when Lincoln-Way East plays at Bolingbrook in a game that likely will go a long way toward determining the outcome of the Southwest Suburban Blue Conference race.

And, on Oct. 25, Romeoville plays at Minooka in a game that could put one of the two over the top in the Southwest Prairie. Following is a rundown of the Valley View School District football schedule:
