Fundraiser Sunday for Long-Time Romeoville Resident, Firefighter Battling Lung Cancer

The fundraiser will be held from noon to 4p.m. on Sunday at Mongo McMichael's restaurant in Romeoville.

A fundraiser for long-time Romeoville resident Rich Fredericks will be held Sunday at Mongo McMichael's in Romeoville. 

Fredericks started his battle with lung cancer on Jan. 24 and has since spent more days in the hospital than home since then. He and wife, Karen, have three children and two grandchildren.

He has been a resident of Romeoville for more than 30 years. Fredericks served on the Romeoville Fire Department for eight years and is a volunteer of Romeoville EMA. He was also a coach for AYSO soccer for 14 years and was involved with the Boy Scouts for nine years.

The fundraiser will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person or $25 for a family of four. Tickets include food, not beverages. 

Enjoy food, a 50/50 raffle, silent auction, raffles, kids games, prizes and more.
