Cold Front Could Bring Severe Storms

National Weather Service says severe weather could develop Wednesday afternoon and evening.

A cold front predicted to sweep through the Chicago area could cause severe thunderstorms with winds in excess of 60 mph, quarter-sized hail and frequent lightning, according to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the in Romeoville.

The forecast calls for highs near 90 in the Romeoville area, dropping to the lower 60s by tonight, and a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms late in the afternoon.

Thursday’s forecast calls for sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s.
