The Valley View board of education will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the district administration, 755 Dalhart Drive, to discuss, among other topics, the tentative 2011-12 budget. Some highlights: This year’s overall budget is a proposed $246.9 million, with an operating budget deficit of $7.9 million.

The at St. Joseph Church in Joliet will raise money for the Spanish Community Center. The event will include pony rides, a petty zoo, live bands, food vendors and more, and starts at noon both days.
