1. VVSD hosts community forums
New Valley View School District Superintendent James Mitchem will host two community forums this week to for the district. The first is set for 6 p.m. Monday at the Romeoville Recreation Center, 900 W. Romeo Road; those who can’t make it that night are invited to attend a second forum at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at the Sarah and Joseph Levy Center, 251 Canterbury in Bolingbrook.
2. RomeoFest starts ThursdayThe , on the Village of Romeoville municipal grounds and the Romeoville Recreation Center grounds. Plenty of entertainment, food and fun are scheduled for the four-day fest, which goes out with a bang — and a fireworks display — on Sunday, Aug. 7.
