Romeoville residents will have soon have more places to shop and dine.

A 22,500-square-foot T.J. Maxx Store is set to join the Shops of Romeoville development at 375 S. Weber Road, along with a Sleepy's mattress store, Dunkin Donuts and Chipotle Mexican Grill, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Construction on the T.J. Maxx store, which will be built next to the former OfficeMax location, will start in the spring.

There's plenty of other development happening in Romeoville. In September, officials announced a Goodwill store will be built next to the Aldi at Airport and Taylor roads.

A 3,500-square-foot Sherwin-Williams store is slated to be built at 660 S. Weber Road.

Another recent development coup for the village was the opening of Sam's Club at 460 Weber Road, a 136,000-square-foot project that brought 175 jobs to Romeoville.

The village was also recently named the gold winner in the High Performance Economic Development category by Atlas Advertising for creating more than 1,560 jobs over the last year.

Why can't we get a road house restaurant. Maybe where Applebees was. It might be a bit small but why not.

Putting in another diner where Applebee's used to. Be is a great idea. It is nice to have a variety of dining venues at hand!

Great news!! We do, however, need more family style restaurants to add variety. In response to the empty Office Max...it's possible that the landlord of that space doesn't want to rent it out yet.I think the Mayor & Village board members are doing a fantastic job bringing in retail & manufacturing businesses. I do look forward to Meijer opening, as I wouldn't have to shop outside Romeoville anymore.

More on the other side what about the completion of everything with new building and shopping for the Hampton area why don't you finish one thing at a time before starting another .....: (

I love to see how much Romeoville continues to grow and I feel nothing but excitement for all the retailers that will be joining us soon. However would it be possible to get a completion updated on the construction that's currently going on on Weber between Airport and Renwick? Seems this project has been going on for months and it seems evert weekend I drive through there, it's nowhere close to being done.
