Report: Workers Say They Were Treated Unfairly, File Suit Against Home Depot

Employees at old Home Depot Warehouse in Romeoville say they were denied overtime pay in a Sun-Times News Group report.

Workers at a now-closed warehouse in Romeoville feel they were treated unfairly on the job, and now they're taking their complaints to court, according to a Sun-Times News Group report.

The report states employees of the closed Home Depot warehouse filed a federal lawsuit Wednesday, claiming they were forced to work off the clock, were paid less than minimum wage and were denied overtime after 40 hours worked as required by law.

Home Depot and Prologistix—a temp firm that staffed the warehouse—were named in the class-action lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago, according to the Sun-Times News Group report.

"The law is clear: workers must be paid overtime after 40 hours of work and must be paid at least minimum wage," stated plaintiffs' attorney Alvar Ayala, of Workers Law Office in Chicago, in the report.
