Readers' Choice: What's Romeoville's Best Mexican Restaurant?

Where do you go when the craving hits you?

Cinco de Mayo was Saturday, but it's never too late to enjoy some cuisine from south of the border.

With that in mind, this week's Readers' Choice asks Patch fans where they head when they're craving great salsa, some tacos or maybe even a margarita.

Some local spots are certainly more authentic than others, but that's not what this is about. It's about which Romeoville restaurant is your go-to spot for Mexican fare. Here are this week's nominees:

How to vote

To pick your favorite, simply take a moment to click on each business and post a review in our Places Directory. The “Readers' Choice” winner will be based on the reviews received on each directory listing.

Reviews posted between Monday morning and noon Friday will be taken into account during scoring.

As always, if we're missing any contenders let us know in comments.

I would pick Mr. Taco, but the last few times I was in there, their place is a mess, dirty and the food wasn't as good as it use to be. I think they need to clean that place up and get back to when the food was always good

Mr. Taco's really gone downhill lately -- Increased prices, and customer-unfriendly policies like "no cups of water" and "no avocado sauce to go" save a few pennies but generate plenty of ill will. I used to go at least once a week. Burritos Mi Tierra is probably the nicest overall, but more pricey. I don't much care for Ruby's or Pepe's, El Barrio is good value. It's not technically Romeoville but El Authentico down in Crest Hill is well, well worth the drive.

That is terrible. The Health department should be in there. I'll never go again. YUCK
