When Frank Pirozzoli—owner of Leo’s Bar & Grill in Romeoville—died on Thursday, many local residents were saddened and quick to offer condolences to his family.
“He was a good guy; I knew him well,” said Russ Chobot, who has worked for seven years as a maintenance man at Leo’s. “And I hate to lose somebody like that.”
Pirozzoli reportedly died of a heart attack at the age of 54, but Chobot said an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of his death. Chobot said the bar & grill went by “Leo’s” because that was Frank Pirozzoli’s father’s name.
Here are some of the tribute/comments left by others on the Romeoville Patch Facebook Page:
Kate Fijalkowski Alstadt Oh my goodness! Frank was my next door neighbor when I first moved to Romeoville. Such a nice guy. Some neighbors bake cookie for each other. Frank greeted us with a bottle of wine. Unfortunately we lost touch when he built his new house. We'll miss you Frank!
