Halloween Fest Set for Oct. 21

Sponsorships still available.

The Romeoville Area Chamber of Commerce is planning an event to give businesses a boost and provide fall fun for the community.

The chamber’s annual , complete with hay rides, a petting zoo, a costume contest and more, is set for 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21 at the Romeoville Recreation Center, 900 W. Romeo Road.

Chamber President and CEO Bridget Domberg said the event was moved to a Friday last year in the hopes that more businesses and families would be able to attend.

“We had over 1,500 people last year,” she said. “It worked out really well. Kids come through and we have kind of a trick-or-treat trail of businesses.”

The Romeoville Rotary Club will also be on site with what Domberg called a “very cool pirate scene.”

The event is free for guests and will feature a kids costume contest.

“It’s an opportunity for kids to dress up an extra time,” Domberg said.

There are still sponsorship opportunities available for area businesses, from a $100 trick-or-treat trail sponsorship to a $500 inflatable slide sponsorship. For more information, call the chamber at 815-886-2076 or visit www.romeovillechamber.org.
