Gas Guide: Prices Up for Fourth of July Weekend
Patch rounds up the best prices at area gas stations.
Just in time for your Independence Day weekend travels, gas prices are heading back up. Here’s a roundup of the area’s lowest fuel prices as listed by GasBuddy.com.
Romeoville's cheapest gas was at Mobil, 344 N. Independence, where a gallon of unleaded was selling for $3.77 Friday morning. Gas was $3.79 at Jewel Express at Weber and Taylor and Citgo, 415 New Ave.
BolingbrookGas was $3.89 per gallon at nearly all Bolingbrook fuel stations. Costco members could score a deal on gas, however — the price there was $3.69 Friday morning.

The cheapest gas in Plainfield could be found for $3.79 per gallon at Thornton's at Route 59 and Renwick Road.
The average gas price in Chicago dropped was slightly up Friday, at $3.99 per gallon, while the Illinois average was $3.79. The national average is $3.57 per gallon, according to chicagogasprices.com.
