Gas Guide: Fuel Prices Dropping Slightly

Patch rounds up the best prices at area gas stations.

The bad news is that local gas prices are still over $4 per gallon. The good news is that they’ve dipped slightly since last week. Here’s a roundup of area fuel prices as listed by the AAA Fuel Price Finder.

In Romeoville, the cheapest gas to be had was as the , 435 Weber Road, where a gallon of unleaded was priced at $4.25. Across the street at , 418 N. Weber, gas was at $4.27; ditto at 7-Eleven, 679 N. Weber.

In neighboring Plainfield, prices were even lower at Phillips 66, 15809 S. Route 59, and Meijer, 13705 S. Route 59, which were selling gas for $4.17 per gallon and $4.19 per gallon, respectively.

The average gas price in Chicago was $4.44, compared with the Illinois average of $4.25 and the national average of $3.92, according to chicagogasprices.com.
