The T-shirts will say it all: "One Team 2013 Together."
And the girls on the Romeoville High School volleyball team will come together in an effort to serve the greater good when the Spartans take on Plainfield Central on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
The occasion is Romeoville High School's annual Volley for the Cure event, funds raised going to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization, which is working to save lives and end breast cancer by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures, according to a news release issued by officials at the Valley View School District.
The Romeoville event will feature a variety of activities, including a quilt raffle for $5 a chance, a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction and a bake sale. Also, the "One Team 2013 Together" T-shirts will be sold that evening or they may be purchased in advance for $13 by contacting Romeoville coach Melissa Zimmer before Oct. 7.
The sophomore and freshman B matches begin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Varsity and freshman A follow—at about 6 p.m. Fans attending are asked to wear pink—remember, it's "One Team 2013 Together."
