Our Summer Reading Program is Just Around the Corner

Summer reading program excitement is on the way and A Midsummer Knight's Read will certainly "slay" your summer boredom.

Our renovation is moving along nicely, and I’m sure you’ll want to visit the district’s website for the latest construction photos. In addition to that excitement, we are well into planning for our awesome summer reading program A Midsummer Knight’s Read —for everyone from babies on up. Our very own troop of acting librarians/directors created a video you must see to learn how you too can Slay Your Summer Boredom with the summer reading program.

Registration begins on Monday, June 6th at all branches and we have a great kick-off program on Tuesday, June 7th with a rousing show with Jim Gill at the Romeoville Recreation Center starting at 6:30 p.m. This show is open to all ages and we expect a huge turnout. You won’t want to miss Jim’s performance.

All during the summer we will have programs for kids, teens and adults many with a medieval theme — from princess tea parties, dragon training and meeting a knight in armor to learning calligraphy, eating a medieval feast and creating your very own herbal sachet. Visit our event calendar to get a full description of all our programs.
