Literally thousands of art-related materials are now in the hands of Valley View School District 365U schools following a large donation from Wilton Brands Inc. of Woodridge.
Wilton, the leading food crafting company in the industry, provided more than $50,000 worth of markers, pens, calligraphy instruments, letters, stickers and much more to VVSD.
Students from VVSD’s Secondary Transition Experience Program (STEP) separated the age-specific materials and tagged them for delivery to a variety of elementary, middle and high schools in the district.
“This is an excellent example of the importance of the community and the school district working together toward the same goal … making sure children are prepared for future success,” said Michele Bochnak, VVSD’s Community Outreach Coordinator. “We are extremely grateful to the folks at Wilton for this generous donation.”
Wilton Enterprises offers a selection of baking, cake decorating, candy making, cookie making, wedding, baby, party, seasonal, kitchen and hydration products. Celebrating its 80th year, The Wilton School of Cake Decorating and Confectionery Art still educates 1,400 students a year who have come from 88 countries and 50 states.
