Valley View Choir Festival is March 27

For the second year, 's elementary school and middle school choirs will join forces to present a free choir festival at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, in the auditorium at , 100 N. Independence Boulevard.

Kristin Sur, a music teacher and choir director at , said nearly 150 students performed last year. This time, elementary school choirs will combine to perform several pieces.

Middle schools will perform indivually before performing a song as an all-district-middle-school choir.

The event will culminate in a performance by the district's middle schools and elementary schools singing together as one group.

Sur said the choirs will rehearse individually before coming together for a dress rehearsal on the night of the performance.

She said the event gives choir students a chance to shine, while allowing elementary school students to see what the middle school choir program has to offer.
