Sones de México ensemble visits Lewis University March 10

The ensemble Sones de México will be performing at 7:30 p.m. on March 10 in the Philip Lynch Theatre on the University’s main campus in Romeoville.

The Sones de México ensemble strives to educate, research, preserve, arrange, present, perform, and disseminate Mexican folk and traditional music and dance to children and adults of all nationalities, physical abilities, and cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best Folk Music in 2007, this musical group specializes in Mexican “son.” Employing native instruments, Sones de México brings to life a variety of regional styles and blends traditional Mexican music with music of other countries and different genres.

Non-refundable $10 tickets for the performance may be purchased through the Philip Lynch Theatre. For more information, please call the PLT box office at (815) 836-5500, open Monday through Friday from 1– 4:30 p.m. The Philip Lynch Theatre is located on the main campus of Lewis University on Route 53 in Romeoville.
