Whiz Kid: RHS Junior is an Accomplished Student, Athlete and Community Leader

Brenda Ramirez, 16, has earned academic awards, a varsity letter in tennis and is part of numerous clubs and organizations.

Each week, Romeoville Patch will seek suggestions from readers for individual kids, youth groups, teens and even sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments.

  • Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: As a freshman, Brenda quietly focused on her studies, participated often in class and began exploring all of the extracurricular activities RHS offers its students. Because of her efforts from the beginning, she now holds a 4.48 GPA, is ranked fifth in the junior class, leads the JROTC Drill Team as captain, acts as secretary of LASO (Latino Academic and Social Organization) and successfully competes in multiple presentation categories at BPA (Business Professionals of America) area and state competitions. Her involvement in school activities and her dedication to studies attribute to her overwhelming success in all she attempts. Her accolades include, but are in no way limited to: JROTC Academic Achievement Award and Scholastic Excellence Award, “Voice of Democracy” essay contest regional winner, Student of the Month and a varsity letter and Student Athletic Academic Award as a member of the tennis team.
  • Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: Brenda views the world through a uniquely bright lens. She respects all people and appreciates every special moment in life. Along with her positive perspective on the world, she stays organized and prioritizes her responsibilities. She knows how to incorporate intense focus and fun in all she does!
