Village Plans March Events

The annual village vs. SRA game, Breakfast with the Bunny and more in store this month.

March is a busy month. The primary is coming up on March 20, and don’t forget St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th.

But the village is cooking up plenty of other events this month. Here’s a quick rundown:

  • March 16: The is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. at the rec center, 900 W. Romeo Rd. This year’s focus is on being green, from green initiatives to education and demonstrations on a more sustainable life. The event will also feature recreation program demonstrations, registration for spring programs and information on community organizations. Guests can enjoy performances by Isshin-Ryu Karate, Romeoville Razzlers Dance Team and the Romeoville Tumbleweeds Gymnastics Team. The Fit 4 Life Fitness center and Jungle Safari Indoor Playground will be open with no admission cost. The event will also offer inflatables for kids, entertainment, green activities and giveaways.
  • March 19: It’s that time of year again: Village officials will face off against athletes from the Tri-County Special Recreation Association in a just-for-fun at 6:30 p.m. at the , 900 W. Romeo Rd.
  •  March 24: The Veterans Commission will host a fundraiser for its brand-new scholarship fund from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Romeoville Recreation Center, 900 W. Romeo Rd. Admission is $5 per adult, $4 per child ages 3 to 13 and free for kids age 2 and under. 
  • March 31: The annual is scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. at the recreation department, 900 W. Romeo Rd. Kids can get their photo taken with a bunny, enjoy inflatables or just come for the breakfast. To participate in Breakfast with the Bunny, kids must be registered by Friday, March 23. Fees are $11 for Romeoville residents ages 1 to 16 and $17 for non-residents ages 1 to 16, and $7 for resident adults ages 17 and old or $10 for non-resident adults. Children under age 1 get in free. All children must be accompanied by a parent. The free Easter egg hunt will kick off at 11:15 a.m., with kids searching for eggs based on age groups. To register call 815-886-6222
