Village Plans Founder's Parade

Event will step off at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18.

Residents are invited to celebrate the village’s roots with the annual on Sunday, Sept. 18.

The parade will step off at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at Newland Avenue and Belmont. Floats and parade entries will be decorated in keeping with this year’s theme of “Recreation Rocks."

Mayor John Noak said his predecessor, former Mayor John Strobbe, will serve as the grand marshal. And there will be plenty of floats to keep spectators entertained.

“We have a really good number of entries this year,” Noak said. “I think we’re over 70 already.”

Following the parade, the Romeoville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will host an open house at Fire Station 3, 698 N. Birch Lane.
