Route 53 Lane Closures Start Monday

Expect closings through October.

From the Village of Romeoville:

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that weather permitting, a resurfacing project on IL-53 from Renwick Rd. to Belmont Dr. in Romeoville will begin Monday, July 1.

The contractor will be milling, resurfacing, and patching. The project will require one lane to be closed in each direction. Work will be performed at various times, between the hours of 6am-6pm. The project has an estimated completion date of Oct. 7.

Motorists can expect delays during times when the lane closures are in effect and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers, signing and striping in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
