One of Your Favorite Teams Will Be Leading the Way at Romeoville Relay for Life Event

Cure Cancer Movement: Coach Jeff Kuna encourages all of the Spartans to be active members of the community and to volunteer at local events.

Look for the Spartans to be out in force during the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 28-29) at Deer Crossing Park, 1050 Romeo Road, Romeoville.

Members of the Romeoville football team have been invited to participate in the "Favorite Team" lap that will be conducted at about 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to a spokesperson for the event. The invitation fits with coach Jeff Kuna's push to encourage his players to be active members of the community and to volunteer at local events.

The Relay for Life begins at 3 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 28) and concludes at 6 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 29). The local event is part of a nationwide movement described like this on the American Cancer Society's website:

"Each year, more than 4 million people in over 20 countries raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer through the Relay For Life movement."
