New Sam's Club Dedication Set for Saturday Morning

Military veterans and members of the Romeoville High School ROTC program will lead the 8 a.m. ceremony.

The Sam’s Club in Romeoville will be dedicated at 8 a.m. Saturday with a color posting ceremony by military veterans.

Students from the Romeoville High School ROTC program will lead the ceremony at the 460 S. Weber Road store, and will be joined by members of the Romeoville Chamber of Commerce, American Legion and the VFW.

According to a news release on the event, Sam’s Club has a long tradition of honoring veterans and current members of the U.S. military, dating back to 1983 when founder and Army veteran Sam Walton opened the first Sam’s Club.

The event is open to the public. The new store, which opened in June, employs more than 150 people.
