New Murphy Park Opens in Romeoville
Residents are invited to enjoy the recently upgraded park.
The new Murphy Park, located at the former Village Hall site at 13 Montrose Dr., is now open, according to the Village of Romeoville.
Approved last year, the $971,400 project includes a rock-climbing play structure, playground, parking lot, entryway and rock outcroppings, rubberized safety surfacing and a picnic shelter.
An official ribbon cutting ceremony and dedication of the Le'Roy "Del" Burns Memorial Pavilion will take place at the park; the date is still to be determined, according to the village. Burns, a village employee for more than 30 years, was killed in an accident in 2012.
