Meet Meadow, a 1-year-old black/brown domestic shorthair mix available for adoption.

Despite being left behind to starve in an abandoned home, Meadow is a huge people lover. She will seek you out for attention and loves plenty of petting; you will hear her happiness as she purrs like a motor. She is not nervous when people come over and does not run and hide. Meadow doesn't seem to like being held very much, she prefers being in the room with you and some dedicated lap time for a good rub down. She is not at all clingy and is content to be relaxing on her own too. This sweetheart is more mellow than energetic, with one of her favorite pastimes being sitting in the window watching the birds outside, but she will bat toy mice around for a few minutes at a time to get a little exercise. She has very soft fur and hasn't shed much. She has not interacted with other cats at her foster home but has made friends with a docile Chihuahua that she likes to spend time with just hanging out on the couch. Miss Meadow's foster mom calls her the purr-fect cat and thinks she will make her new owner very happy to have her.

Meadow's $125 adoption fee includes spay, rabies and distemper vaccinations, FIV, Feline Leukemia, fecal testing and microchipping.

Contact the Romeoville Humane Society at (877) 813-7300 or romeovillehumanesociety@yahoo.com to inquire about adoption.
