Divine Mercy Sunday, May 1st, at St. Mary Immaculate Paris
St. Mary Immaculate Parish will celebrate a Divine Mercy Prayer and Reconciliation Service on Sunday, May 1st, in the St. Mary’s Church, at 15629 South Route 59 in Plainfield.
Please participate with us in this celebration of God’s mercy! Confessions begin at 2:30 pm and continue throughout. At 3:00 pm there will be Veneration of the Divine Mercy Image followed by The Divine Mercy Chaplet, Divine Mercy Way of the Cross, Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary and Benediction and Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament.
We will also celebrate the much-anticipated beatification of Pope John Paul II which will be celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI in St. Peter's Square on May 1, 2011, the first Sunday after Easter

In April 2000, Pope John Paul II declared that the first Sunday after Easter “will be called Divine Mercy Sunday” recalling that Jesus promised those who fittingly observe the Divine Mercy Feast will receive complete forgiveness of sin and all temporal punishment associated with sin.
