Silver Cross Patients Save at Orland Square Mall

Silver Cross Hospital and Orland Square Mall, Chicagoland’s leading fashion destination, have joined forces to promote good health and reward area women for getting their annual preventative screenings. As part of the Silver Cross I Matter™ program, several mall retailers are offering valuable savings to patients who complete a mammography or heart screening at the New Lenox hospital.  Participating Orland Square retailers include Cache, Eddie Bauer, Fannie May Candies, Today’s Nails, Virgin Mobile, and Wetzel’s Pretzels.

“Orland Square Mall is proud to partner with Silver Cross Hospital to support the I Matter program,” said Gayle Gleespen, director of marketing and business development. “With the support of many of our retailers, we’re proud to offer patients special savings and incentives for taking the right step toward making their health a top priority.

Over the last four years, more than 4,200 women have taken charge of their health by joining the free Silver Cross I Matter program.   In addition to discounts at local businesses, members receive a welcome gift, which includes information on how to schedule a mammogram and cardiac screening as well as details on how to take advantage of the discounts.  Upon completing a health screening, members receive a discount card that can be used over the next 12 months for unlimited purchases with over 55 I Matter business partners.   I Matter members are also invited to special events and receive important health information throughout the year.  For more information or to sign-up to become an I Matter member, visit www.IMatter.silvercross.org or call 1-888-660-HEAL (4325).  It’s quick and free to join.

Silver Cross has made it easy for women to get their mammogram at the Center for Women’s Health located on the new hospital campus at I-355 and Route 6.  The Silver Cross Center for Women’s Health represents a unique concept in women’s healthcare. First in the region to provide an advanced level of diagnostics coupled with specialized care for women in one convenient location, the spa-like Center offers digital mammography, breast ultrasound and biopsy, and bone densitometry.

A certified female technologist performs the mammography screening and a board-certified radiologist studies the images for tumors as small as a centimeter using a computer assisted detection system (CAD) giving women the benefit of a second opinion without any additional procedures.  With CAD, doctors can diagnose breast cancer even earlier catching the disease when it is most treatable. And for women who are at high risk, Silver Cross Hospital offers breast MRI scans.  It’s extra sensitive and can detect even the smallest tumors.  Designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR), the Silver Cross Center for Women’s Health is uniquely staffed with a Certified Breast Care Nurse to guide patients through the next steps in their care.

I Matter members also receive discounts when they participate in a $40 Baseline Cardiac Risk Assessment or a $200 Calcium Score. Both heart screenings are offered at the Hospital and the Silver Cross Health Center in Homer Glen.  No doctor’s order is required for either heart screening. Cash, check or credit card will be accepted at time of appointment—insurance will not be billed.
