Rep. Lipinski Pitches in on Harvest Saturday

Rep. Dan Lipinski (IL-3) joined several hundred volunteers for Harvest Saturday on Nov. 23 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. The annual event, now in its 20th year, raises money and collects food for local food pantries to help area residents in need. Harvest Saturday is sponsored by area churches, including St. Andrew, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Community Christian Church, United Presbyterian Church and The Rock Church. Appearing in the photo with the congressman are St. Andrew pastor the Rev. Gregor Gorsic and Romeoville trustees Brian Clancy and Dave Richards.

 “The entire Romeoville community should be proud of the turnout and the effort that continues to make Harvest Saturday a success. The only thing more impressive than the number of people who came out to help was the overwhelming generosity of spirit,” Rep. Lipinski said.  “The holidays always are a busy time of year. The commitment by volunteers and area churches to help those in need was truly inspiring. I was honored to help out.”
