Mobile Workforce Center to stop at University Park Village Hall

JOLIET – The Workforce Services Division of Will County’s Mobile Workforce Center will soon make a weekly stop at the University Park Village Hall.

Beginning May 6, the Mobile Workforce Center will be at the Village Hall, 698 Burnham Drive, University Park, from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. each Tuesday.

The mobile unit travels throughout Will County to help residents with resume development, cover letters and job applications. The workforce center contains 11 computer stations, internet access, and offers keyboarding lessons, as well as resume and job search assistance using online listings including jobs4people.org and Illinois workNet. There is no charge for Will County residents.

“We are happy that the village is partnering with us to give residents in the University Park area a place to go to utilize these services,” said Will County Executive Larry Walsh. “It should be a great benefit to have the unit in such a familiar location to residents. I hope area job seekers will take advantage of all of the services the Mobile Workforce Center has to offer.

“I also appreciate Governors State University’s partnership the past three years. Many residents have benefited from the Mobile Workforce Center’s presence at GSU,” said Walsh.

“It’s just a great service for the residents,” she continued. “And the best part about it is that it’s free. …I applaud Susan (Flessner) and Larry Walsh for the things they’re doing for our County.”
