Plus, local headlines that didn't make today's newsletter.

For women of all ages looking to celebrate Halloween and to support three Will County United Way agencies serving women and children, the witching hour strikes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 24).

That’s the start time of an annual Witches Night Out event at the Renaissance Center, 214 N. Ottawa St., Joliet. Women from all walks of life are invited to come together for an evening of dress-up fun and giving (witch-wear is encouraged; not required).

The cost is $15, which provides “all witches” access to the Witches’ Bazaar (shopping), Story Readers, the music of Mo-Jo, entry into the costume contest and entry in the door prize drawing for a $400 pizza party from Giordano’s.
