One more month of misery—perhaps a little less.
That’s the word from the Illinois Department of Transportation regarding construction on Route 53 in Romeoville. The project—resurfacing of Route 53 from Renwick Road to Belmont Drive, a 3.53-mile stretch—is expected to be completed by November 2013, according to an IDOT construction update report.
The project’s estimated cost is $2.28 million. That’s in dollars and cents. But how about the amount lost in heartache since the project started in June? One Lewis University student expressed her angst recently in a post on the University’s website:
“I live 10 minutes from campus,” Jessica said. “It took me about 45 minutes to get to school.”
