While unemployment throughout Illinois has remained mostly unchanged since February, overall 218,500 private sector jobs have been added since January 2010, according to the Illinois Department of Employment Security.
Unemployment rates in Illinois were 9.5 percent in March, a slight decrease over February and slightly higher from the same time in 2012, according to new figures released in late April. In Romeoville the unemployment rate dropped in March to 10.4 percent in the village. That is down from 10.8 percent in February and up from 9.4 percent in March 2012. In March the Will County rate fell to 10 percent from 10.9 percent in February. That figure is up year over year from 9.5 percent. The numbers measure unemployment for residents who live in a certain town, not those who work in the town. The Weber Road location will be one of at least eight Applebee's locations to close in the Chicago area.
Romeoville's Applebee's will soon close, according to the Chicago Tribune. The location at 472 Weber Rd. will be one of eight locations around Chicago to do so. The move comes as Applebee's reorganizes its operations in Chapter 11 bankruptcy, according to the Trib. "AppleIllinois plans to sell its franchise rights and its assets, including its restaurants, as part of its bankruptcy proceeding," the Trib reported.

Neighboring Plainfield has two locations for residents to drop off small gifts.
Two Men and a Truck locations across the country are collecting donations for local women’s and family shelters for delivery on Mother’s Day and it’s the first year for the program in Plainfield. The program is called Movers for Moms and the purpose is to recognize all moms on Mother’s Day, including those living in shelters, by arranging delivery of small gifts for women who are victims of domestic abuse or homelessness.
