Fountaindale Public Library opened a temporary Studio 300 space after its new multimedia creative space flooded last month.
While Studio 300 is being repaired from the damage incurred from the April flooding, Fountaindale continues to offer many Studio 300 services and programs in a temporary space. Studio 300 is located in the lowest level of the library. The Quiet Reading Room, located on the third floor of the library, is now the temporary Studio 300 space. The Mac computer stations are set-up and staff will continue to host programs and one-on-one training. Patrons can continue to learn about the video equipment with a “mini” TV studio. There's a TriCaster, cameras and a portable green screen set-up so patrons can gain experience and be ready to use the video recording studios in Studio 300. While she pursues her Bachelor’s Degree, Bolingbrook High School graduate Anna Kopsky is having a great time as a staff member at WSSR-FM/Star 96.7 Radio. The 20-year-old former BHS National Honor Society President, Raiderette and Homecoming Queen has been working in radio since she was 14. These days she can be heard from 5 to 9 a.m. weekdays delivering news and traffic reports and serving as co-host of the "Cooper in the Morning Show." Kopsky hopes to graduate from North Central College two terms early in November. Before landing a job at Star 96.7, she interned for almost a year at 95.9 “The River” both on-air and in the promotions department, and at 100.7 Q-Rock on the air. Volunteers will be at four roadway locations this weekend collecting money for the Romeoville High School Band Boosters “Shake-The-Can” fundraiser. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 135th Street and Belmont, 13th Street and Joliet Road, Weber and Airport roads, and Weber and Taylor roads. Shake-the-Can is one of the ways the Band Boosters raise money to supplement the band program at RHS. The money will go toward the purchase of large or specialized instruments, repair and maintenance of band uniforms, purchase of music, fleet maintenance, scholarships, and travel expenses. 'Lights! Camera! Action!' set for April 20 at the Philip Lynch Theatre.
Regional CARE Association will be hosting its annual spring fundraiser, “Lights! Camera! Auction!” on Saturday, April 20 at Lewis University in Romeoville.
