Woman Brought Friends to Beat Boyfriend with Golf Club, Police Say
Melissa Richards is also accused of stealing her boyfriend's computer, phone and wallet in the incident.
A Romeoville woman who decided escalate a fight with her boyfriend by bringing friends to their house to beat him with a golf club and steal his laptop computer, phone and wallet has been arrested.
Romeoville police say officers were first called to the couple's 423 Dalhart home on a report of a domestic disturbance between Melissa Richards, 25, and her boyfriend at about 3:45 a.m. Sept. 3. At that time, Richards agreed to leave house, according to a press release issued by the department.
She returned less than two hours later, accompanied by four friends, and allegedly instigated a fight in the front yard in which the boyfriend was attacked and threatened with a knife, the release said.
Before leaving, Richards allegedly took the boyfriend's computer, phone and wallet, which were valued at more than $300.
Police located the five suspects in Lockport, where they were arrested.
Richards was charged with mob action, aggravated battery and felony theft.
Lana Richards, 44, 423 Dalhart, Romeoville; Kurt Hodges, 27, 621 17th St., Lockport; and Gregory Kijek, 26, of 508 E. 18th St., Lockport, were charged with mob action and aggravated battery. Johnathan Bolisenga, 28, 410 Bruce, Lockport, was charged with mob action and obstructing.
The boyfriend was treated for his injuries at Bolingbrook Adventist Hospital.
