Despite all of the whining about socialism under Obama, the U.S. has been a socialist country for a long time. Obama is nothing new. How long have we been saying certain companies are "too big to fail"? How long have we been bailing out airlines and automakers? That's not capitalism, sorry. That's socialism for private industry.
We had socialism under Bush. Does the $700 billion bailout of investment banks sound familiar? In a capitalist systems, CEOs of these banks would be out on the street selling apples and begging for food. Instead, these "crony capitalists" are out partying on our dime.
Both parties are socialist. Get over it. It's just a matter of whether we get socialism for the rich or socialism for the poor. It's not surprising that a majority of Americans chose the latter.
If it were up to me, we'd have no socialism at all. But right now, only libertarians like Bob Barr and Ron Paul are advocating such a policy. I don't think they have a prayer, because almost everyone, rich and poor, feels they are entitled to someone else's tax dollars. It's a deep moral problem that we pay for with the loss of our freedoms.
There can be no freedom without basic morality and responsibility. As long as we believe the magical "Someone Else" is responsible for our mistakes, we'll have socialism.

That's all he set out to accomplish while the economy & jobs fell by the wayside.

Vicky, he can't do anything without Congress and the Republicans in there have done nothing but be obstructionist jerks.
"Our primary goal should be to deny Obama a second term." -Mitch McConnell, R-KY
Oh, and before you trot out the "Obummer had a majority in Congress for two years" line, I'm going to head you off. Yes, he did. However, he did not have a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. By the time Al Franken was seated after the recount in Minnesota (which technically gave Obama the required 60), Ted Kennedy was lying on his deathbed. Only Senators on the floor of the Senate chamber are allowed to vote. Then, Congress went into recess, Kennedy died and the Tea Party-backed Scott Brown won the special election in Massachusetts.

the comments I see regarding the President reflect the petty partisan politics that are destroying our country. The truth is that we have not had a financial crisis comparable to what this president was left with since the great depression, and Oh by the way that one was also brought on by Republican policy also. This president has been able move this country back in the right direction in the face of, 2 wars he did not start, a financial system that was in collapse, an economy that was totally in the crapper, the most expensive healthcare system in the world (which had the worse outcomes) , a oil well catastrophe, Bin Laden, terrorism at every turn, with no help from the opposition in turning the country around. He has faced the worse (just like FDR) and is taking us forward to sound footing. You know Bill Clinton said it best, when he said that though he disagreed with the Republicans quite often, he NEVER hated them. You folks with your, irrational, unfair, and unfounded hatefulness are destroying the USA, many inappropriately using Christianity many of you are misrepresenting the constitution. My God is an awesome God and he won't let the crazies like you destroy us!! SHAME on You!!

BS the finacial problems were not brought on by republican policy. The congress spends the money. Congress was controlled by the dummycrats for 2 years before this mess started. There is plenty of blame to go around. The only thing destroying our country is run away deficit spending that Obuma said he would stop. Lie. He has spent trillions more and accomplished nothing.
Obuma also said he would be bipartisan but that was a lie too. Once in office he immediatly started pushing far left big gov, big spending policies and when the republicans tried to contribute he told them no, to bad we won and pushed thru things the country did not want, Like the stimulas and health care.
He is a failure and needs to be replaced.

Scotty, when it comes to deficits. Obama has not spent that much more than Bush did. Deficits never mattered to the Republicans until January 2009, why is that?
Have you taken a look at what Romney has proposed and what the CBO has said his plan will do to the deficit. The CBO has said the deficit would increase under Romney's plan.
Oh, one more thing. Didn't the Republicans run on a platform in 2010 of not passing a bill that would add to the deficit. How's that working out for them?

President Reagan turned it around and started the economy moving forward in 3 1/2 years with a democratic run senate and congress.
Obama had a democratic senate and house for the first 2 years. He lost control when America expressed their dislike (2010 elections) for his obamacare bill. He should have spent the first two years fixing the economy. But then again what does a lawyer know about economics?

You're wrong, amongst other things, but we don't go there. Remember the financial meltdown in the fall of 2008? McCain suspended his campaign to go deal with the crisis? TARP bailout by Bush was in 2008, well before Obama took office. He inherited a mess left by Republicans.
Bush never accounted for two wars, a prescription drug program and tax cuts. He never figured them into the budget.

First, Ronald Reagan Inherited a statistically worse economy.
Second, the economic collapse was brought on by the Clinton era banking "reforms" that forced banks to make 10% of mortgage loans to low income people regardless of the fact they could NEVER pay them back.
Third, Obama had two years of a supper majority. Republicans could not stop anything.
Fourth, Harry Reid has stopped ALL legislation in Senate committees. NOTHING is allowed to come to a vote.
Fifith, our healthcare system was not the world's most expensive with the worst outcomes. That is a lie told by someone completely ignorant of how it works.
You need to cast a wider intellectual net and get your facts from somewhere other than MSMBC.
And while you are all puffed up over your love for God. Ask yourself why you would support a President who believes NO unborn child has a right to live. He fought legislation in Illinois that would have protected a child that survived an abortion. He favored throwing it in the trash.

Vicky - How is the Affordable Care Act a "takeover" of health care by the government. Before the ACA, most people had private health insurance, except the elderly who had Medicare and the poor who had Medicaid. After the ACA, the same will be true. Before the ACA, nearly all hospitals and doctors were "private" and after the ACA, the same will be true. Before the ACA, healthcare insurance and delivery was heavily regulated by state and federal government. After the ACA, the same will be true. I realize you're just repeating the Republican Party talking points you've heard, but how is any of this a "takeover"?

"Lisa, then your simply not paying attention.... and i dont think anyone on here thinks reps are stupid or racist. Its when people like gryan or that our vera make comments as they do are the stupid and racist. Its not the party... its people..."
Here is another post from Sept 28th:
"Vera, you have proven enough on your own... In my opinion, all of your "odumba", Michelle is "ugly" has "horse teeth" comments are bigoted in nature. No one was talking about Michelle... You brought her up... Mad at her because the "View" asked her a question... You randomly and negetivley bring up Jesse Jackson. No one was talking about him? YES, you or anyone else can call people names with out being racist. However, in my opinion, the root of your comments are racial."
Here's one where you call her a bigot also from Sept 28th:
"Also, i never said if you thinking mrs obama has a big this or an ugly that has anything to do with race. I just said that in my opinion vera is a bigot. You are more than welcome to joing that company."

My so-called point was that Cob did call Vera a racist. When he said "Its when people like gryan or that our vera make comments as they do are the stupid and racist. It is kinda hard to see in just that one sentence, because COB did not do such a great job writing it, but, if you read the entire comment, it is pretty clear what COB said.

I GUESS THEY DON'T TELL US THIS ON FOX. YES, A STEP TOWARDS ENERGY INDEPENDENCE. ANOTHER OF THE MANY OBAMA FAILURES.
"NEW YORK (AP) – For the first time, the top export of the United States, the world's biggest gas guzzler, is — wait for it — fuel.Measured in dollars, the nation is on pace this year to ship more gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel than any other single export, according to U.S. Census data going back to 1990. It will also be the first year in more than 60 that America has been a net exporter of these fuels.
Just how big of a shift is this? A decade ago, fuel wasn't even among the top 25 exports. And for the last five years, America's top export was aircraft.
The trend is significant because for decades the U.S. has relied on huge imports of fuel from Europe in order to meet demand. It only reinforced the image of America as an energy hog. And up until a few years ago, whenever gasoline prices climbed, there were complaints in Congress that U.S. refiners were not growing quickly enough to satisfy domestic demand; that controversy would appear to be over."

Actually what Romney did at Bain is important. Remembering that all things are connected, teachers did initially have profitable pension plans but are you aware of any pension plan that is not underwater? Because the game was rigged, they lost their pensions plans during the great depression of 2008 and because Bain's primary directive is to mine or extract profit meaning making money off of money, via : layoffs, closing businesses, exploiting the tax code, gaming the tax code, OUTSOURCING, but not creating anything or having any NEW IDEAS they actually raided, looted & plundered this country. AMERICANS lost their jobs and made no headway in income causing us not to be able to sustain teachers pay. Bain extracted money from them at both ends. Oprah, she is part of the 1%, I love her but am not worried about her money in the least!! Bain matters and not in a good way!

Should he just KEEP apologizing to all of the countries, in the middle east, that have a beef with us? I guess so since it's worked so well for Odumfa.

VVA, what in the world would lead you to think Obama would start a war??? Think of the conflicts in the middle east in the last 20 years...Bush Jr and Sr.. Obama has shown no inclination of starting a war there. QC, there is a reason they hate us.(Not that I really care) We should not be there in the first place. We should be pulling out as fast as possible ...let the nuts over there figure it out on their own.

Impossible for Romney to be reincarnated as there's no such thing as reincarnation.

Baba Wawa. Pull your head out. Congress spends the money and congress was controlled by the dummycrats for Bush's last 2 years before the economy tanked. and the economy was doing quite well before that. The pipeline would create jobs immediatly They got to build the thing. It would bring down gas prices immediatly since the prices are based on futures markets and it would show we are serious about oil production. So far as "two unfunded wars" nearly every one supprted those wars, republican and dummycrat. Remember 9/11. If you look at the rise in the deficit and where the money went the wars are a drop in the bucket compared to what obama has spent.
Blind ,spiteful, bitter and ignorant are not good qualities but you (and Fangman) have them all

Scotty,
Yes, Democrats voted for Shrub's lie to get us into Iraq. Shrub never included them in the budget. How does your stupid argument bolster the fact they were never paid for?
Stupid, ignorant of fact, and being a Republican are not good qualities, but you have them all.
Republicans are idiots and arguing with them is a waste of time.

Ok. Name a war that was on budget. I'll help None. Bush didn't lie about anything. I assume your talking WMD. The whole world, the UN , the congress, everyone believed they were there. Saddam used them on his own people a few years earlier. Saddam was shooting at our planes and refuseing to cooperate with inspections.
Arguing with Socialists is the waste of time. When your to stupid to see the truth you should at least keep your mouth shut.
And if you think Barry Obuma is the answer to this countries problems you are stupider than I thought. He and people like him are the cause.
