Property Crimes: Car Stolen, Homes Burglarized, Decorations Vandalized

Among the items reported taken were steel grates, jewelry, cameras, laptops and credit cards.

 

The following property crime reports were taken by the Romeoville Police Department:

An unknown object was used to break eight outdoor overhead lights and a glass block window of a concessions stand in the 1100 block of Murphy Drive owned by the Romeoville Recreation Department. Report made at about 8 a.m. Dec. 11; damage estimated at $700.

Several items were taken from a business in the 400 block of North Weber Road in an incident of retail theft. Report made at about 1 p.m. Dec. 12; loss estimated at $175.

A lock hasp was broken and nine forklift propane cylinders taken from an outdoor locked storage rack of a busines in the 900 block of West Crossroads Parkway. located in the business parking area. Report made at about 7 a.m. Dec. 13; loss estimated at $1,390.

Cash was taken from a home in the 600 block of South Edward Drive. Report made at about 10:20 a.m. Dec. 14; loss was less than $500.

An office was broken into via a broken window and several offices rummaged through in the 500 block of South Independence. Report made at about 7:10 a.m. Dec. 14; unknown if items were taken.

Extension cords and welding lead, valued at a total of $1,410, taken from a vehicle parked in front of a residence in the 200 block of East Daisy Circle. Report made at about 6 p.m. Dec. 14.

Several tools, valued at a total of $1,200, taken from a storage shed in the back of a residence in the 300 block of Hickory. Report made at about 9 a.m. Dec. 15.

A SpongeBob SquarePants inflatable Christmas decoration valued at $70 taken from a resident's yard in the 400 block of Kingston. Report made at about 3:30 p.m. Dec. 15.

A credit card and debit card were taken from a vehicle parked in the 1200 block of Lakeview Drive and used to make $2,200 worth of fraudulent charges. Report made at about 11:30 a.m. Dec. 15.

A metal mailbox valued at $50 was knocked off its post in front of a residence in the 700 block of Roof Avenue. Report made at about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 16.

The rear window of a vehicle was smashed while it was park in the driveway of a residence in the 400 block of Kingston Drive. Damage estimated at $250; report made at 8:35 a.m. Dec. 16.                   

A BB gun was used to damage a double-pane picture window of a residence in the 300 block of Sunset Pointe. Damage valued at $450; report made at about 6 p.m. Dec. 17.

Eight metal grates valued at a total of $800 taken from the wash bays of a business in the 600 block of North Weber Road. Report made at about 8:10 a.m. Dec. 17.

Several cameras, laptops, jewelry and cash were taken from a home in the 300 block of McKool entered via a damaged window. Estimated damage and loss was $7,000; report made at about 11:50 p.m. Dec. 8.

A Christmas moose decoration in the front yard of a residence in the 600 block of Briarwood damaged by a sharp object. Report made at about 6:15 p.m. Dec. 14; damaged valued at $10.

Jewelry valued at $10,000 taken from a residence in the 1900 block of West Brimstone Road that was entered via a damaged exterior door. Report made at about 7:40 p.m. Dec. 14.

Christmas lights and a mailbox were damaged at a residence in the 200 block of West Savannah Drive. Report made at about 11:30 a.m. Dec. 16; damage estimated at $70.

An empty semi-trailer container valued at $30,000 taken from a business in the 1400 block of Enterprise Drive. Report made at about 12:30 p.m. Dec. 20.

An inflatable yard decoration and candy cane lights taken from the yard of a residence in the 1600 block of William Drive. Report made at about 8:05 p.m. Dec. 20; loss estimated at $115.

A package containing two bracelets valued at a total of $116 taken by two unidentified juveniles from the porch of a residence in the 100 block of Wedgeport Circle. Report made at about 1:45 p.m. Dec. 21. 

Prescription medications, a watch and a remote-controlled helicopter, valued at a total of $310, taken from a vehicle parked at at a business in the 400 block of South Weber Road. Report made at about 2:55 p.m. Dec. 21.

A mailbox in front of a residence in the 200 block of West Savannah reported damaged at about 6:15 p.m. Dec. 21. Damage valued at $50.

A mailbox in front of a residence in the 900 block of West Savannah reported damaged at about 6:35 p.m. Dec. 21. Damage valued at 50.

Two sets of steel grates valued at a total of $1,000 taken from a business in the 600 block of Nort Weber Road. Report made at about 8:45 a.m. Dec. 22.

A Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV valued at $10,000 taken from the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 1200 block of Pullman Road. Report made a about 1:10 p.m. Dec. 23.
