Presidential Poll: After Romney's Win in Florida, Who are You Favoring?

Romeoville Patch will begin polling its readers on a weekly basis to gauge their interest in the election, its candidates and what issues are most important to them.

The GOP primary race continues, with Newt Gingrich vowing to continue his battle to become president despite losing by a significant margin to Mitt Romney in Florida.

Meanwhile, Romney’s campaign took a hit after the former Massachusetts governor asserted he was “not concerned about the very poor” because there is a “safety net” in place for them. While Romney was claiming his comment was a “misstatement,” Gingrich seemed supremely confident, laying out his agenda for his first day in the White House.

And now, the Illinois primary is just more than a month away.

So we’re asking once again— if the election were today, and you had the entire GOP slate to choose from, who would be your presidential pick?

Romeoville Patch is polling its readers to gauge their interest in the election, the candidates and what issues are most important to them. This poll will be published each week until the end of the election season.

And at the end of the Illinois primary (March 20) and general election (Nov. 8), we hope these numbers will provide insight into how attitudes and ideologies shifted throughout what seems sure to be a cutthroat political atmosphere.

In case you’re curious, as of Friday, Ron Paul had the most votes in Romeoville Patch’s most recent poll, while President Barack Obama and Romney were tied and Gingrich trailed by just a few votes.

Voting for Barack Obama is a wasted vote. He is a lame duck president and voting him in for another 4 years will be another 4 years of nothing getting done because the house and senate won't pass any of his proposed legislation. The Republicans have the majority and they won't let anything that has to do with him get passed.

Which is all the more reason we need to make sure we also vote to make sure President Obama has a congress he can work with.

Honestly! Does anyone really think Mitt Romney is made up of a different kind of cloth then our current or previous Presidents? Mitt Romney knows how to play the "Washington Game" just like the rest! I used to believe that Americans were inteligent enough and could see through the lies and b*** S*** that canidates spewed out to get elected, but over the last serveral years I believe the American people have become complacent and have sat back and allowed our Congressman, Senators and even our Presidents enact policies and laws for the best interest of themselves and the Financial Institutions of this country rather then standing up and demanding accountability from them!
