Yes, It was time for a change. Just like anything else, It's not just one thing or one person that is the cause of the Bears dismal seasons of late. Lovie was a good motivator in that I do not beleive the team ever 'quit on him' like i've seen other teams do. I also beleive he is a good defensive mind - However, that being said, It's also his downfall. Football has changed and has evolved into a more offensive directed game - As a coach you have to be be more creative and figure out ways to score with the talent you have - you can not be stuck in a rut of doing the same things over and over and not taking chances and being aggresive when the situation warrants it. Lovie was also bad at clock managment and handling the press and to an extent the fan base - I get you want to keep everything 'secret' about who's hurt and how bad and when they might practice again.... but don't insult us over and over again by answering questions with the same condescending
responses. At least be honest and say " I'm not discussing player X's condition as it effects what my opponent will do to game plan this Sunday, etc, etc. " . There, is that so hard ? How refreshing and truthful. How come I have to think of it.
In closing, I only hope that the Bears orginization makes good choices moving forward, and hires someone with vision, great talent evalulating skills and creativity.
Maybe then we'd have a shot at a winning season.

Lovie is not team leader. He is a contributor ! He blew it when they had Rex and Cedric, not knowing how to replace them when they didn't perform. Same thing with Cutler. He chooses players on personality, not performance. He'd be a good defensive co-ordinator as he was with Dungee with the Colts. Chicago needs another Iron Mike, someone who doesn't cater to prima donas but gets them either motivated to produce or gets rid of them. Cutler worries about Cutler and not the Bears ! We need team oriented personnel both on the field and off, which includes all personnel (Coaches; players; and yes owner and management)
