Former Romeoville Police Detective Sgt. Paul L. Liske, 64, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012

 

Paul L. Liske, 64, late of Joliet and formerly of Romeoville, passed away Saturday June 2, 2012.

A Vietnam veteran serving the U.S. Navy from1964 to 1968, Paul has been with the Romeoville Police Department since 1977, retiring in 2005 after 28 years of service. He worked as Patrol Officer, Evidence Technician, Detective Patrol Sergeant and Detective Sergeant. Paul enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Liske; loving father of Lori Liske, Gilbert Liske, Edward Liske and Sheryl (Kurt) Collins; cherished grandfather of Carli Collins; dear brother of Catherine Winnick; uncle of numerous nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albin and Ruth Liske.

Visitation is Tuesday, June 5, 3-9 p.m., at the Anderson Memorial Chapel, 606 Townhall Drive. Romeoville. Funeral is Wednesday, June 6, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment with Military Honors to follow Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

This guy was a corrupt police officer. If he didn't have evidence he would plant it. He also beat confessions out of people when they had no involvement in what he wanted them to confess to. He did this to me in the late 80's. I grew up with his two sons, and know stories of abuse from one of his sons. He may of changed later in his career, but my opinion is it is highly unlikely.
