'Party for a Purpose' Fights Back Against Cancer

Mayor John Noak and State Sen. A.J. Wilhelmi were among the celebrity bartenders at a July 15 event to benefit the first Relay For Life of Romeoville.

A raised roughly $1,200 for the American Cancer Society's signature fundraiser, according to Mary Gilliam, captain of team "Touched by Angels."

The event paired "Touched by Angels" with team "Please, No Cancer" to raise money for the village's first-ever . 

Mayor John Noak and State Sen. A.J. Wilhelmi (D-Joliet) were among local celebrities who took a turn behind the bar Friday at , serving up drinks and collecting tips to benefit the inaugural event.
