Letter: Noak's Earned Support by Supporting Vets

Veterans for Noak lauds the Romeoville mayor and encourages the public to give him four more years.

Dear Editor;

We’re reaching out to you today because we know you care deeply about our men and women in uniform today as well as the veterans who have served us so bravely in the past. Whether you are currently serving our great country, are a veteran or you simply support our military and veterans, we thank you.

Veterans for Noak is a group that believes it’s important to support those who support you and me. With local elections fast approaching, we want to let you know why we believe it’s vital to give our support to Romeoville Mayor John Noak.

John is a pro-veteran mayor. For the last five years as mayor, he has worked together with community leaders for a better Romeoville. Throughout that time, he has displayed a commitment to veterans that is unmatched. He has diligently worked with local veterans to ensure we have access to the services we need. As the son of a disabled veteran, he understands the importance of those services and their availability to our veterans.

John was also instrumental in spearheading the Romeoville Veterans Commission, an organization that has created a resource guide and instituted educational scholarships for dependants of veterans and Romeoville ROTC students.

The Village of Romeoville along with the Veteran’s Commission has also sponsored an annual veteran’s job fair over the past three years which has brought companies from all over the country to give our Romeoville veterans the opportunity to succeed.

Leaders like John who have our best interests at heart have earned our vote and we hope will earn yours. If you feel as strongly as we do about John’s commitment to veterans, we encourage you to get involved  and support him in the upcoming election.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Thank you for your continued support of our military, veterans and those who assist us in our endeavors, and please remember to vote on April 9, 2013.

I moved to Romeoville 2 years ago not knowing who was mayor or any political parties runing this town, Personally my thought is if it's not broken why fix it, I don't know what side either of the mayoral. candidates are running for nor do I care, what I care about is the community in which I live and my neighborhood is clean peaceful and the police patrol and keep things this way, I don't know what needs to be changed but it seems to me the present Mayor is doing his job and I wouldn't want things to change just to put an ex Bear player in this position, I want someone who has experience in this job, just my opinion

I am a Veteran. Served in the US Army in Germany with the 2/27th FA 3rd Armor Division. The Village of Romeoville has been my home since 1972 when my parents bought a home on Healy Ave. We watched it being built from the ground up. Since coming back I my wife and I have lived in Romeoville now 30 plus years. I have seen a lot of stuff happen in this town. We have had our share of politics in Romeoville. I am not endorsing our current Major or Steve Mc Michael at this time. This is a very hard decision based on what has happened in our town since Mr. Noak took office not sure if I can vote for him or not. The Village bought Crazy Rock that is insane to pay 3 plus Million dollars for that property. It is not worth that all. Just like the Golf Course off of Weber Road. The Village bought for 4 Million the Land was only worth 1.4 Million after we bought it. I do not get it. I am endorsing Richard Love as Trustee and Carl (Cheif) Churulo. i know that I can trust these two men with the affairs of the Village of Romeoville. God, bless all of you in your decisions.

I think your figures are a little inflated. Crazy Rock was purchased for 1.35 million

Sometimes you have to spend money to make money.

I don't want to vote for noak strictly because of the second rec center he plans on building we need a grocery store I'm sick of my side of town where I was raised and have special memories being turned in to some kind of run down ghetto
