Embattled Drew Peterson Lawyer Joel Brodsky Takes to Facebook
After the firing of arguably the most effective attorney on Drew Peterson's legal team, lawyer Joel Brodsky attacks Steve Greenberg on Facebook.
Already in the hot seat for his part in blowing the Drew Peterson murder case, lawyer Joel Brodsky lashed out at recently fired co-counsel Steve Greenberg on Facebook.
In a post entitled "REGARDING STEVE GREENBERGS (sic) TERMINATION AS ONE OF THE ATTORNEYS FOR DREW PETERSON," Brodsky launches a 404-word rant in which he effectively blames Greenberg for nearly everything that went wrong in the failed defense of convicted wife-killer Drew Peterson.
In the event Brodsky has second thoughts about the post, or how truthful parts of it may or may not be, here it is in its entirety:
"Steve Greenberg was given a job to for the defense team, which was to bring motions and make objections, as well as cross examine a few witnesses. He failed to bring the most important motions, such as to bar the 2004 “botched investigation” evidence, saying he would object when the state tried to get the evidence in. Then he failed to object when the State started with this evidence, potentially causing the loss of several important appellate issues. He also missed several other important objections which are required to preserve issues to appeal. It was then that Mr. Greenberg was relieved from the job of making objections. Further, even though Mr. Greenberg he (sic) did win many of the motions, these were on small issues. Greenberg lost the big ones, such as barring the hearsay previously found to be unreliable, and keeping the “hit man” testimony out. During the trial he was frequently absent from the defense table because he was hanging out in the press room, or by the TruTv television tent. He also failed to attend almost all after court team meetings, and was unprepared for his cross-examination of the few witnesses he had, fumbling for papers while the witnesses were on the stand. Mr. Greenberg was let go because of his failure to accomplish most of the tasks he was brought on board to take care of.
Also, for the record, Greenberg did not object to Harry Smith being called as a witness by the Defense (sic), and in fact was in favor of him being called as late at (sic) the day before Smith was called. Further, Smith was never barred from testifying, nor was his testimony reduced in scope by a motion that Mr. Greenberg made and any statements to that effect are false. Finally, Greenberg never argued with me not to call Smith, and his statement to that effect is not true. Greenberg didn’t change his story on the Harry Smith issue until after Smith testified and he felt that the testimony may have hurt Drew’s case, and only then did he vocally (to others but not to the defense team members), start saying that it was a mistake. It is nothing more than a blatant attempt to distance himself from the conviction that was not really anyone’s fault, as the jurors (sic) public comments show that they were going to convict Drew Peterson no matter how lacking the evidence was.”

Wow, Brodsky is a poor loser....can't he see how that case was lost??? He made fools out of Drew and himself. He has no more idea how to be an attorney than Drew knows how to be a good husband.

I am enjoying every bit of this in-fighting. Not that Greenberg or Lopez weren't experienced in the kind of defense law that Peterson needed, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out Brodsky was always going to call the shots. Greenberg and the "Lopi" deserve this crap for getting mixed up with Peterson and Brodsky in the first place. Are they that stupid that they didn't see what was coming? Too bad. They look like wild animals gnawing on one another. It's quite funny, I think.

Thankfully this is the last high profile case Brodsky will ever handle. From clowning around at press conferences, to fumbling the Smith testimony, and taking to Facebook to rant about a member of his own defense team, he sealed his fate. DePaul would like it's certificate back please.

Joe & Watchful, thanks for the laughs, I needed them this morning! Isnt it ironic that Brodsky sends Greenberg a warning telling him NOT to discuss anything publicly and then turns right around within hours and does exactly that himself? Then when I saw the tweets from wifey "inhiheels" yea she sounds high on something, does she not think ol' boy can handle Stevie on his own? I'll bet that made him feel more like the MAN he is!! LMAO!! And then of course the comment concerning the handsome devil & the bald guy, gotta love it when someone can find humor after such a long ordeal! Good job!
P.S. If his page was public when this was discovered, its now private, one would think he'd want to be public so the whole world could see his message!

Brodsky's past is riddled with vindictive actions, so this is nothing new. He chained himself to a table during a court proceeding some years ago, and he sued his former wife's lover for bonking her. He has threatened to sue most anyone he can throughout this case. Ah, sweet -- it's all going to come back and hit him in his big pie hole!

Not only is Brodsky vindictive, he's a con himself - look at his past and you'll find he was charged with forgery ($23,000) and brought before the Bar and was facing a 3 year suspension of his license but talked them into only suspending it for 3 months!
Brodsky and Brodsky alone is soley responsible for losing Drew's case and he KNOWS IT!...the whole world has heard of Greenberg's words to Brodsky in the hallway "I've filed 74 *..... motions to keep him (Smith) out and now you want to go and undo it all!"....
Brodsky, when you put Smith on the stand, you walked backwards over a cliff with Drew in your arms LOL - THANK YOU for getting that murderer convicted :D
Greenberg, count your blessings you're away from those clowns and keep up the good work!

I LOVE how his ARROGANCE and IGNORANCE shines through in his message. For example, TONS of misspellings(I'm guessing that his spellchecker suggested the correct spellings but OF COURSE, he assumed he was SMARTER than it)& the fact that he's blaming Greenberg for FAILING to do things IN THE PRESENCE of the WHOLE team! At no point did any of them step up and say something! He's SUCH a SCUMBAG. After the verdict he was giving an interview to the cameras. There were people yelling from far away in the background and he said, "what do you expect from these unemployed losers. Maybe they should get a job". ANY bit of respect I had for him was lost at that moment. He's a sorry excuse for a man.

I thought the whole team was a joke! Drew is a serial murderer and is where he belongs! I think it is poetic justice personally! Arrogance all the way around! Glad they all are eating humble pie these days!
