County Offering Christmas Tree Recycling

Drop off real trees at one of four Will County locations, where they will be chipped and used at district preserves.

 

When the holidays are over, bring your real Christmas tree to one of four Will County locations to be recycled.

“Recycle the Holiday Spirit” is a free Christmas tree recycling program offered by the Forest Preserve District of Will County. Real trees will be chipped and used at district preserves.

Drop off your tree from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 27 through Jan. 7 at Sugar Creek Administration Center, 17540 W. Laraway Road, Joliet; Isle a la Cache Museum, 501 E. 135th St., Romeoville; Plum Creek Nature Center, 27064 S. Dutton in Goodenow Grove Forest Preserve, Beecher; and Monee Reservoir, 27341 Ridgeland Ave., Monee.

All tinsel, lights and ornaments must be removed. The program is only open to family trees; no commercial trees will be taken.
