Two Relay For Life of Romeoville teams are joining forces to raise money to fight cancer, with help from a few local celebrities.

will host the “Party for a Purpose” featuring celebrity bartenders including Mayor John Noak, DuPage Township Supervisor Bill Mayer and State Sen. A.J. Wilhelmi (D-Joliet), from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, July 15.

“Our teams have been trying to raise money all year long,” Gilliam said. The bartending event “is a way to get together about a week before [the relay] and have some fun while raising money,” she added.

Gilliam said organizers approached Noak and Mayer about the event before asking Stone City co-owner Milton Karounos to provide a venue. All three quickly got on board.
