Car Rolls Into Romeoville Pond: Police
A car was recovered from a Romeoville pond Friday morning.
No one was injured Friday morning after a car rolled into a Romeoville pond, according to police.
Police responded around 9 a.m. to the pond near Target, 349 S. Weber Rd.
No one was in the car when it rolled into the water, according to Romeoville Assistant Police Chief Steve Lucchesi. The driver had parked the car, which was a stick shift, thinking he had activated the parking brake. He had not, and the car rolled forward and into the water.
A diver was in the water to assist a tow truck recover the car.

Didn't the same thing happen like a year or two ago?? Same pond, and car unoccupied?? Crazy! Thankfully nobody is hurt. Except the insurance company..lol

Cause its cool to have a stick shift. Plus not everyone can afford automatic transmission in some models a stick us standard equipment.

jono100, you are correct. Nothing better than going through the gears of a 5 speed stick. Quicker off the line, faster around corners, and just plan cool.
Need to know how to drive one to really appreciate it. For those who say its a pain, after awhile you switch gears by sound and habit.
Summertime, loud music, a girl in the passenger seat, and a cool pair of sunglasses.

Yea, sticks are fun until you're on I-55 in heavy traffic. You'll wear the clutch and through out bearing out before you reach the Outer Drive. !st, 2nd, 3rd, back to 2nd, then 1st. Yea, sticks are fun.
