A Romeoville car wash could soon get an overhaul.
Under owner Bill Klump’s proposal, modern equipment would be installed in the southern wash lane, allowing the business to offer a $3 wash lane.
Klump is also seeking permission to replace the existing pole sign with a monument sign with a multicolored LED message board. According to village documents, Klump believes Laserwash requires a larger sign due to the speed of traffic along Route 53 and the angle at which vehicles pass the car wash.
Ambulance purchase on the agenda
Local livesavers could also get some new wheels.
The Romeoville Fire Department is requesting the purchase of a 2012 Ford F450 Medtec custom ambulance. Under the proposal, the village would use the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative to buy the vehicle for $174,812 from Foster Coach Sales Inc. of Sterling, Illinois.
The purchase was approved as part of the 2011-12 fiscal year budget.
